Jan-Åke Åkesson

Biography

Jan-Åke Åkesson is a European Patent Attorney with a strong focus on mechanical engineering and strategic IP counselling. With nearly three decades of experience, Jan-Åke assists clients in building and maintaining patent portfolios that align with their broader business goals.

His practice spans the full spectrum of European and international patent prosecution, including the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, freedom-to-operate analyses, infringement evaluations, and strategic advice.

Jan-Åke is particularly trusted by clients for his ability to tailor his advice to their specific needs—whether acting as a long-term IP advisor for small and mid-sized Swedish companies, or as a skilled patent prosecutor for larger domestic and international clients.
